The Problem

We have observed that individuals seeking discreet assistance with their sexual health questions and concerns need a private platform that delivers clear and informative responses, empowering them to take control of their sexual well-being with confidence and privacy.

The Goal

The primary objective was to develop an app harnessing Giddy's extensive repository of sexual health articles, guiding users to detailed and personalized resources tailored to their specific needs and inquiries. Our aim was to establish a user-friendly and personalized space, advancing our company's innovative trajectory. Despite having a wealth of articles and resources organized within a comprehensive taxonomy, we sought to elevate the user interaction experience with our content.

We took a proactive approach by distributing a comprehensive survey to gather insights on individuals' experiences with seeking sexual health information and their interactions with health-related apps. The valuable data gathered was meticulously analyzed and visualized through an affinity map, allowing us to pinpoint recurring pain points shared among participants. This user-centric exploration formed the foundation of our design process, ensuring that the subsequent stages were tailored to directly address the identified needs and challenges within our target audience.

Starting the Design

As we delved into the prototyping phase, our initial menu structure comprised "Home," "My Feed," and "Explore." Recognizing the need for simplification and intentional naming, we acknowledged that revisions would be necessary. Despite the awareness of future adjustments, this route served as our starting point, laying the foundation for a more user-friendly navigation experience.

In crafting the prototype, our focus was on providing users with accessible options to explore various topics. We prioritized making the search function prominent, guiding users to use it primarily. The "Feed" aimed at personalizing the user experience, while the "Explore" section served as a comprehensive repository for accessing any topic covered by Giddy.

The user's journey of asking a question was designed to lead to a direct answer to their specific inquiry. Subsequently, users were prompted to delve deeper into the topic, ask more questions, or explore related content. The "Explained" page was tailored to offer an in-depth overview of each topic, complemented by suggestions for related content, providing a thorough and engaging user experience.

Testing & Iteration

The app underwent months of iterative development and collaboration with stakeholders, allowing us to clarify its true intentions and benefits for both the company and our users. Throughout this process, successful elements from early prototypes persisted, serving as a foundation, while numerous iterations further enhanced the app's quality and sharpened its primary purpose. The overarching goal was to empower users with actionable answers to their sexual health questions and concerns, and ensuring the app as an impactful solution.

As we present the latest hi-fidelity prototype of the Ask Giddy app, it's essential to note that this iteration represents the most recent evolution of our design. The app remains dynamic, continually adapting as we deepen our understanding of user needs and align with company requirements. While this prototype showcases the current pinnacle of our design efforts, an earlier iteration is readily available on both the App Store and Google Play Store. This earlier version marks a milestone in our journey, reflecting the continuous commitment to improvement and responsiveness to user and industry demands.
